The Lord’s patience on Calvary

A pro-life reflection on the passion

The Lord has opened my ear. For my part, I made no resistance, neither did I turn away. I offered my back to those who struck me, my cheeks to those who tore at my beard; I did not cover my face against insult and spittle. The Lord comes to my help, so that I am untouched by the insults. So, too, I set my face like flint; I know I shall not be shamed.

Lenten Reflections on Mercy and the Pro-Life Cause - Bishop Patrick

This Lent falls within the Year of Mercy which Pope Francis has proclaimed throughout the Catholic Church. He has reminded us that God’s mercy is the very foundation of the life of the Church, and that ‘nothing in her preaching and in her witness to the world can be lacking in mercy. The Church’s very credibility is seen in how she shows merciful and compassionate love.’ (1)

Real Men Protect the Unborn

What role do men have in the pro-life movement?

This is a reasonable enough question to ask, given the role that men (for the most part) play in the conception of a child.

One of the slogans of the pro-abortion lobby is, “It’s a woman’s right to choose”. The implication is that a woman should be able to make the choice when it comes to determining whether the life of an unborn child should be ended or not.
