On Monday 27th October, we will mark 58 years since the Abortion Act was passed in the UK. At March for Life UK, we believe this is a day that should not go unmarked.
To commemorate this anniversary, we are holding a Witness Event from 12pm to 2pm in Parliament Square, London, where we will remember all the lives lost to abortion as well as those who have been impacted in any way. We warmly invite you to join us in standing publicly for Human Rights for All Humans – our theme for this year.
We will be forming a peaceful presence around the edge of Parliament Square, holding posters that carry this message along with a powerful image of a living pre-born child. You do not need to bring anything with you – posters will be provided on the day.
In past years, this event has prompted meaningful public engagement. Many passers-by have commented positively on the posters or have been moved to begin conversations among themselves. These moments of awareness are vital. We don’t only want to make abortion illegal – we want to make it unthinkable, and paradoxically, the first step in doing that is encouraging people to think about it.
We will also be filming interviews during the event with politicians, medical professionals, religious leaders and pro-life advocates, which we look forward to sharing with you afterwards.
Whether you can come for the full two hours or just a short time, your presence matters. Please save the date and help us be a visible, compassionate witness for life in our nation’s capital.
